A Southern Gothic Due Out This Friday via Canvasback

Adia Victoria has shared a new song, “You Was Born to Die,” featuring Kyshona Armstrong, Margo Price, and Jason Isbell. The song is a cover of a 1930’s blues song by Blind Willie McTell, and it is the latest single release from Victoria’s upcoming third studio album, A Southern Gothic, which will be out this Friday (Sept. 17) via Canvasback. Georgia Blue Due Out October 15 via Southeastern

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit have announced a new covers album, Georgia Blue, of which all proceeds will benefit three different organizations: Black Voters Matter, Fair Fight, and Georgia STAND-UP. The album consists of covers of songs originally created by Georgia natives (R.E.M., Gladys Knight, James Brown). Isbell and his band have also shared a song from the album, a cover of R.E.M.’s “Driver 8,” which features John Paul White. Georgia Blue will be out on October 15 via Isbell’s own label Southeastern Records. More
Reunions Out Now via Southeastern

In mid-May, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit released Reunions via Southeastern, their fourth studio album as a six-piece. The band played two songs off the record last night on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, starting with “Running With Our Eyes Closed” and closing with “Overseas.” More
Eraserland Due Out March 22 via Dead Oceans

Strand of Oaks (the project of Timothy Showalter) is releasing a new album, Eraserland, on March 22 via Dead Oceans. Last night he stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to perform the album’s “Ruby.” As on the album, Showalter was backed by members of My Morning Jacket (Bo Koster and Tom Blankenship). He was also joined by Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires. More
