Ex Machina was one of our favorite films of 2014 and now its writer/director Alex Garland is coming back with a new film, Annihilation. It also has a sci-fi theme to it and is based on Jeff VanderMeer's 2014 novel of the same name (Garland adapted it into a screenplay and is directing). The film stars Natalie Portman as a biologist searching for her missing husband, played by Oscar Isaac (an Ex Machina alumni, remember his great dance moves in that film?). Geoff Barrow of BEAK>and Portishead is scoring the movie, alongside Ben Salisbury.
