The last time there was a Woodstock festival was in 1999, to commemorate the original festival's 30th anniversary, and it didn't go so well, with reports of gang rapes, property destruction, violence, and fires, not to mention a fairly terrible lineup featuring Korn, Limp Bizkit, Bush, Kid Rock, Creed, and others. The organizers of Woodstock 50 are no doubt hoping for a more peaceful and loving event this time and the freshly announced lineup is noticeably less heavy, not a nu-metal band in sight.  More

There's no news on the exact release date for RTJ3, but the duo have now announced a bunch of tour dates for January and February 2017, which should indicate that the album may be out during one of those months.  More

The Veils have announced a new album, Total Depravity, for release on August 26 via Nettwerk. The album was co-produced by El-P of hip-hop duo Run the Jewels, along with Atom Greenspan (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds) and Veils frontman Finn Andrews. El-P is an inspired choice, due to The Veils mainly being a rock band. More

A rally in Iowa City this Saturday in support of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is set to feature members of Vampire Weekend (also featuring Dirty Projectors' Dave Longstreth), rapper and Run the Jewels member Killer Mike, and Foster the People. The Iowa Caucuses are next Monday, February 1, the first chance the people get to vote on who the Presidential candidates will be, hence the timing and location of the rally.  More
