LA favorites, Bluebird, have the tendency to play live sets that are more on the painfully abrasive side than anything else. Being that this is what I’ve grown to expect from the band, it was an absolute surprise to find that on Hot Blood they were able to achieve the perfect balance between melody, groove and rock’n’roll intensity. Mostly resembling Soundgarden at their better moments, almost the entire album is thoroughly addictive. Many a song is guaranteed to live on in your internal jukebox until you give into temptation and listen to nothing else.
