Weekend Players is the collaboration between Nottingham-based jazz/dance vocalist Rachel Foster and Groove Armada’s Andy Cato. Though it’s covering terrain already done by Everything But The Girl, Kosheen and William Orbit, the combination of Foster and Cato’s talents is a winning one. Cato’s trance-dub supports Foster’s thick voice just right, neither being too flashy, low-key or beat-heavy. One of the album’s singles, “Into The Sun”, is stylishly euphoric, and “21st Century” is begging to be heard at fashion shows throughout the world.
