Class Actress' frontwoman, Elizabeth Harper, slinks around an apartment in sexy underwear in this red-hued video for Journal of Ardency EP's title track. The clip was directed by Patrick Cleandenim. Journal of Ardency is out now on Terrible. Class Actress' short tour with Little Boots starts today. Also, "check them out" at SXSW. (Via P4k.tv.)

Mayer Hawthorne: “I Wish It Would Rain” Video
Blue-eyed soul man Mayer Hawthorne (given name Andrew Mayer Cohen) released his debut LP, Strange Arrangements last fall (via Stones Throw) and now mtvU has the exclusive premiere of his video for the single "I Wish It Would Rain." The Barry White-esque clip follows the L.A.-via-Michigan singer as he takes a stroll under a private, CGI rain cloud. Check it out right here. See his hefty touring schedule at his MySpace.
Brooklyn indie-pop duo Javelin blindsided many music listeners with the Technicolor CD-R, Jamz and Jemz. Now here's "Oh! Centra," off their first album No Más, due April 20th via David Byrne's Luaka Bop. It's a whacky chiptune track with helium-voiced rap verses about kangaroos and busting out dance moves like "The Barrel Roll" and "The Time Machine." They even manage to throw in a little musical hat tip to Salt-N-Pepa's "Push It." Check out a full stream of No Máshere.
Vancouver, British Columbia's Yukon Blonde create folk-rock music that harkens back to groups such as Fleetwood Mac, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. They also also possess the vocal-filled grooves of contemporary bands such as Fleet Foxes and Midlake. The all-singing trio consists of Jeff Innes (guitar), Brandon Scott (guitar), and Graham Jones (drums). Their ten-track debut LP, Yukon Blonde, was released last month via Bumstead/Nevado (March 23rd in the States) and it already hit #15 on Canada's iTunes charts. They recorded it with Shawn Cole (Bend Sister, You Say Party! We Say Die!) in Vancouver.
Today we offer you the premiere of their keening, rain-soaked video for single "Wind Blows." The harmony-laden cut gets a nice performance clip here. The band brews some hot beverages, play in every nook and cranny of a house, and invite some of their friends over for a party. (Not too shabby for an afternoon jam session.) Yukon Blonde will tour the U.S. starting tomorrow (March 2nd). Those dates include a stop at SXSW.

Midland, Ontario indie-rock trio Born Ruffians' sophomore LP, Say It, will be streeting June 1st through Warp. Click above to download or listen to "Sole Brother." It's a yelpy little number about helping out gramps with raking the leaves and wishing to be an only child. Lead vocalist Luke LaLonde’s bluesy voice sets the herky-jerky and slightly lo-fi tone. The full-length was recorded in Toronto and mastered in Brooklyn. Pre-order here. They've also got a tour of the U.S. coming up. Those dates include a trio of gigs at SXSW. More to be announced.
Dosh's fifth album comes out April 13th via anticon. and it's called Tommy. This will be the follow-up release to 2008’s Wolves & Wishes. Download/listen to its first preview track featuring frequent collaborator Andrew Bird.
"Number 41" starts with a chopped-up big beat before bells and synths burble up underneath Bird's inimitable vox. Dosh is currently touring the U.S. with Minnesota hip-hop duo Eyedea & Abilities and Portland R&B-pop songstress White Hinterland.
The Brooklyn synth/8-bit rock trio The Depreciation Guild is led by The Pains of Being Pure at Heart percussionist Kurt Feldman and features Pains touring axe man Christoph Hochheim. Their uniquie blend of video game beats and indie-pop on their second full-length, Spirit Youth. Unlike their debut In Her Gentle Jaws this release won't be available for free, but you can buy it May 18th via Kanine. Be sure to check out their new shoegaze-pop single, "Dream About Me" and its companion vid. Also, Spinner conducted an interview with the group.
