Gruff Rhys

“Lost Tribes” Video

Sep 26, 2014

Gruff Rhys has debuted a new video for “Lost Tribes.” The song is taken from the Super Furry Animals frontman’s latest solo album, American Interior, which is already out in the U.K. and comes out in America on November 4 via Turnstile.

A press release explains the video as such: “‘Lost Tribes’ is a song about the 18th century explorer John Evans‘s misguided quest to find a lost Welsh tribe in the American interior—thought to be descendants of the mythical 12th century prince—Madog. In this video directed by Dylan Goch, Gruff Rhys dresses for the wilderness in the guise of a Welsh radical, sartorially inspired in particular by the druid and Chartist Dr. William Price. Evans is represented by a 3 ft tall avatar in felt designed by Pete Fowler and the Felt Mistress.”

American Interior is more than just an album, but is also a documentary in which Rhys retraces Evans journey and an app.

Rhys also has some upcoming U.S. tour dates:
