On August 26, Danger Collective will release Control, a new album from BOYO (L.A. musician Robert Tilden). Today, we’re sharing the record’s title track. While the single brings to mind some familiar touchstones (Deerhunter’s brooding elegance and circling psychedelia, Ariel Pink’s off-kilter take on paisley-pop), one could imagine Tilden easing his way into the ranks of contemporary bandcamp-bred favorites. “Control” suggests that, similar to Alex G or even Car Seat Headrest, Tilden knows his history and can synthesize the best qualities of his influences while tunneling ahead into a vision that’s his own.
