Hiss Golden Messenger

Premiere: Hiss Golden Messenger Mixtape (Le Guess Who? Edition)

Apr 16, 2014

Le Guess Who’s annual May Day event goes down on Saturday, May 24 in Utrecht, Netherlands. Ahead of that, we’re featuring mixtapes from a few of the artists performing. Why? Because we love Le Guess Who. And mixtapes. The first in our series comes from Hiss Golden Messenger.

“These selections are going to be familiar to my friends, because they’re songs I reference a lot,” says Mike, “MC” Taylor. “They each in their own way touch on certain things that I love about music—rhythm, desperation and suffering, redemption and love. I’ve spent a lot of time with each of these tunes. And this may be the only place that Curtis and Bocephus ever rub shoulders.”

Take a listen to Hiss Golden Messenger’s tape below. Are you going to be in the Netherlands in May? Be sure to grab your ticket to the festival here.
