Born Ruffians

Watch: “Love Too Soon” Video

Oct 31, 2017

Toronto artist Born Ruffians are premiering their new single "Love Too Soon" today. The track is produced by Richard Swift (The Shins, Foxygen, Tennis, Nathaniel Rateliff) and is premiering alongside a music video directed by Leah Fay Goldstein and Peter Dreimanis of July Talk. It's a rather clever video to a bare guitar and piano ballad which shows lead singer Luke Lalonde drifting unnoticed like a ghost down the hallway of what looks like a Halloween party. The interpersonal disillusionment is reflected in the mood of the song which suggests a crescendo it never reaches, content to stay quiet and melancholy...and lovely.

More Born Riffian news according to the press release is that the band just completed a North American tour with the New Pornographers which saw original drummer Steve Hamelin return to performing with the band full-time. Luke Lalonde also recently made his acting debut alongside Tim Heidecker in the feature film Sundowners
