2013 Mercury Prize Shortlist Revealed

Include David Bowie, Savages, Arctic Monkeys, Laura Marling and More

The shortlist of nominees for the 2013 Barclaycard Mercury Prize have been announced. Honoring the best British album of the year since the award's inception in 1992, winners in the past have included Pulp, Arctic Monkeys, The xx, and most recently Alt-J. The winner will be chosen by a panel of British music critics and industry heavy-hitters. This year's nominees are:

Arctic Monkeys: AM
David Bowie: The Next Day
Disclosure: Settle
Foals: Holy Fire
Jake Bugg: Jake Bugg
James Blake: Overgrown
Jon Hopkins: Immunity
Laura Marling: Once I Was an Eagle
Laura Mvula: Sing to the Moon
Rudimental: Home
Savages: Silence Yourself
Villagers: Awayland
