London-based trio HÆLOS have announced some North American shows for early next year. A press release also promises that the trio’s debut album, due out in 2016 via Matador, will be announced in the coming weeks. The tour dates include their first shows in New York and on the West Coast, plus a stop at SXSW, and are below. More

The Big Pink
The Big Pink have returned after some lineup turmoil that saw founding member Milo Cordell leave the band in 2013. Back then other founding member Robbie Furze announced his intention to continue The Big Pink as a solo act, but their comeback single comes with the news that the band is now a four-piece, although their new press photo only features Furze and keyboardist/vocalist Mary Charteris. Surfer Blood guitarist Thomas Fekete has been battling a rare and aggressive form of cancer. His health insurance has been covering more than six months of regular chemotherapy treatments, but does not cover an alternative treatment plan he’s also been undergoing. As Fekete is unable to work and tour he’s been relying on fan and friend donations to his GoFundMe page to help pay for treatments. More

Norwegian singer/songwriter Sondre Lerche has teamed up with Los Angeles-based experimental composer Jherek Bischoff for a new song entitled “Surviving Christmas.” The holiday song addresses the current European refugee crisis and can be streamed below. It will be released on November 20 as part of Indie For the Holidays, a new compilation/playlist put together by Amazon that will stream on Prime Music and for purchase via Amazon Music. More

Blur
Blur recently announced a new documentary/concert film entitled New World Towers. The film chronicles the making of the band’s long-awaited new album, The Magic Whip, which was released earlier in the year by Warner Bros. and also features performance footage from both a June show in London’s Hyde Park and another concert in Hong Kong. More
