A Decade Old Jack White Single Has Been Discovered…in a Chair
White and Brian Muldoon are…The Upholsterers
Dec 18, 2014 Jack White
More proof that Jack White is the Willy Wonka of the blues. A decade ago Jack White and his pal Brian Muldoon were in a band called The Upholsterers, inspired by the fact…that they were actually upholsterers. The pair released a single by sewing 100 copies into 100 different pieces they were commissioned to refurbish. Cut to 2014 when two fans/confused chair owners have reported finding copies. Which means there’s still 98 out there.
For a soundtrack while you take a knife to your couch, check out “Apple of My Eye” a single that the band DID release in a more conventional fashion via Sympathy for the Record Industry in 2000.

Clever trick. Who would have thought about sewing your album in a chair. Would have gone viral in this day and age.
