ABBA, Stooges, Kiss, Chili Peppers Nominated for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

It's hard to fathom that Genesis, ABBA, or The Stooges haven't been inducted into the coveted Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Now it's their time to finally shine.

According to the Rock & Roll Hall's official site the nominated artists above and nine more will get a chance to be the envy of their peers in 2010. Drum roll please...

LL Cool J
Darlene Love
Laura Nyro

The Stooges
Donna Summer

The 25th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony goes down March 15, 2010 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. To be considered for the hall, artists must have released their first single or album at least 25 years prior (no later than 1984) to the year of nomination.

In related news, this fall the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will also host two star-studded concerts to celebrate its 25 anniversary at Madison Square Garden on October 29th and 30th. The Rock and Roll of Fame Foundation and Museum's celebration will also extend beyond the concerts, with both a book (The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: The First 25 Years), and a deluxe nine-DVD boxed set (Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Live). The special nights welcome these former inductees as performers/curators: Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Stevie Wonder, Simon & Garfunkel, Paul Simon, Crosby Stills Nash & Friends, U2, Aretha Franklin, Eric Clapton, and Metallica.

Is it just me or does anyone think the Rock Hall logo looks like a strange cult symbol?
