Alanis Morissette has announced a 2020 tour where she will perform her 1995 album Jagged Little Pill in honor of its 25th anniversary. She has also announced a new album, Such Pretty Forks in the Road, and shared its first single, “Reasons I Drink.” Support on the tour will include Garbage and Liz Phair. Such Pretty Forks in the Road is due out May 1 via Epiphany Music. The album’s tracklist and cover art have yet to be shared, but below is “Reasons I Drink,” followed by the tour dates.
Such Pretty Forks in the Road is Morissette’s first album of original music since 2012’s Havoc and Bright Lights. Morissette and Michael Farrell wrote “Reasons I Drink,” which was produced by Alex Hope. On Wednesday Morissette is performing “Reasons I Drink” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
On Thursday a new Morissette musical, also entitled Jagged Little Pill, is debuting on Broadway at the Broadhurst Theatre in New York City. Morissette wrote the show’s lyrics and co-wrote the music with Glen Ballard. Tony Award winner Diane Paulus (Waitress, Pippin) directed the musical and it features an original story by Academy Award-winning writer Diablo Cody (Juno, Tully).
