Arcade Fire Get All Philanthropic With Partners in Health
Signed Miroir Noir DVDs to Be Sold for Charity
Maybe Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne was wrong. The folks from Arcade Fire seem pretty nice, to the point of being unrepentantly altruistic. While Win Butler and Co. slowly work on the follow-up to Neon Bible, the members of the Montreal indie-rock unit have signed 250 copies of the deluxe edition of the recently released Miroir Noir DVD for the Partners in Health charity. They're also throwing in a limited edition hand silk-screened poster signed and numbered by the artist. The strictly limited deluxe signed edition with poster are now available exclusively at www.arcadefire.com for $250 (plus shipping and handling). The donations will go towards sending thousands of children to school with hot meals, providing housing, and increasing their family’s agricultural potential. Fans of Arcade Fire may recall that during their 2007 Neon Bible tour they donated a portion of the proceeds to Partners in Health’s program in Haiti, Régine Chassagne’s home country.
