Arcade Fire Continue Their Support of Haiti
Band Will Match Public Funds up to 1 Million Dollars
This is cool. Since the Haiti’s devastating earthquake earlier this year, Arcade Fire has been outspoken in their support—throwing their name behind Partners in Health and dedicating licensing fees to the recovery efforts. Now, the band has partnered with Kanpe and is offering to match public donations up to one million dollars. As bandleader Win Butler told Times, “Please, take our money.”
To help Arcade Fire reach their goal, text “STAND” to 30333. I’ll echo Tom Breihan of Pitchfork's sentiment. “Amazing. Let's do it, people!”
