Arctic Monkeys To Play New Album Via Online Transmission

According to a NME report and the band’s “Transmission” website, Arctic Monkeys have announced plans to stream a special online gig previewing tracks from their forthcoming third LP, Humbug. The Sheffield quartet will perform the one-off concert through a web transmission on their official site this Thursday, July 30th at 9 p.m. (BST).
In the interim, the group have posted a quick trailer which you can view here. Their new sludgy release, which was produced by James Ford and Queens of the Stone Age‘s guitarist Josh Homme, is out on August 24th. The weekend after the release the Sheffield band will headline the Reading & Leeds Festivals (Reading on August 29th, Leeds on August 28th). Their current single, “Crying Lightning” is already available to buy as a download and the band premiered the video for the track last Friday. (www.arcticmonkeys.com)
