Bands Added to 2011 Primavera Fest Lineup
The Flaming Lips, Belle and Sebastian Among Acts Announced.
Last week, we reported that Britpop pioneers Pulp were reuniting after an 8-year-long hiatus at the 2011 San Miguel Primavera Sound Festival, which runs from May 25th through the 29th in Barcelona, Spain. Like that wasn't already enough for our fest-happy, reunion tour-loving hearts, Primavera promoters have announced today a slew of buzz-worthy acts joining Pulp for the epic five-day soundclash.
The groups currently scheduled are Animal Collective, Belle and Sebastian, The Flaming Lips, The National, Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, Mogwai, Swans, Suicide, Broadcast, Half Japanese, Sonny & the Sunsets, The Fiery Furnaces, Papas Fritas, Comet Gain, Blank Dogs, Dan Melchior und Das Menace, and Triángulo De Amor Bizarro.
Fleet Foxes will also be on hand to "present their new album," according to the band's press release.
Rounding out the lineup are two highly anticipated acts performing seminal albums in their entirety: alt-rockers Mercury Rev will play 1998's Deserter's Songs, while John Cale and his band—as well as an orchestra—will grace festival-goers with his acclaimed 1973 solo record, Paris 1919.
