Here's a bit of unexpected cross promotion: Best Coast has shared a new holiday song, "Christmas and Everyday," that's found on the soundtrack to a new Christmas special for the American Girl doll line entitled An American Girl Story-Maryellen 1955: Extraordinary Christmas. You can stream the very Christmas-y song below, which will be available to download exclusively via Amazon this Friday (the special will also be streaming via Amazon).

Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino had this to say about the song in a press release: "'Christmas and Everyday' is a song about empowerment and love. We need to remind our youth and young girls that they are strong and capable of achieving whatever they set their minds to- on Christmas and EVERY day."

The press describes the Christmas special as such: "An American Girl Story-Maryellen 1955: Extraordinary Christmas is the second collaboration American Girl and Amazon and is based on American Girl's previously launched BeForever character Maryellen Larkin. The special is set during Christmas in 1955 in Daytona Beach, Florida, where middle child Maryellen (Alyvia Alyn Lind) longs to stand out amidst the hustle and bustle of her big, busy family. A boisterous and artistic girl, Maryellen's adventurous spirit is sometimes at odds with the era she's living in: when conformity was valued above individuality. Through her gift of drawing, Maryellen helps give her friends an extraordinary Christmas they'll never forget."

Best Coast released their third album, California Nights, last year via Harvest.
