Broken Social Scene are releasing a new album, Hug of Thunder, on July 7 via Arts & Crafts. Now they have shared the album’s title track, “Hug of Thunder,” which features vocals from Feist. They have also announced their first full U.S. tour since 2011. Support comes from The Belle Game and Frightened Rabbit. Check out the song and tour dates below. Also below is a tour trailer.
Broken Social Scene premiered a new song, “Halfway Home,” in March and the next day the band stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to perform the new single. The album features longtime Broken Social Scene collaborators/members Feist, Metric’s Emily Haines and James Shaw, and Stars’ Amy Milan and Evan Cranley. The full lineup for the new album is as follows: Kevin Drew, John Crossingham, Brendan Canning, Sam Goldberg, Charles Spearin, Ariel Engle, Justin Peroff, Leslie Feist, Andrew Whiteman, Emily Haines, Evan Cranley, Amy Millan, Jimmy Shaw, Lisa Lobsinger, David French, Ohad Benchetrit, and Jason Collett.
