SXSW 2012 Party
On March 15 Under the Radar will host the second of three free SXSW Day parties sponsored by PRS Guitars. Leading up to the event we’re letting you know about each artist playing. Today we’re spotlighting Chairlift.
In a previous post we gave you the basic party details of the party: The party happens from 12:00-6:00 PM at the Flamingo Cantina at 6th and Red River (515 E. 6th Street, Austin, TX 78701). All events are free and open to the public—no RSVPs or badges are required. The second day also features performances from Slow Club, Com Truise, Zambri, Taken By Trees, Choir of Young Believers, and Bear in Heaven.
Since their debut album Does You Inspire You, Chairlift have shrunk from a trio to a duo. Their sound, however, has only gotten bigger, expanding past the iPod commercial refrains of “Bruises” into a place of pure, ‘80s-pop synth bliss. Check out a review of sophomore album Something here, and check below for a series of videos and streams.
