Com Truise – Under the Radar’s SXSW Party Spotlight
Playing Under the Radar's Second SXSW 2012 Party, Thursday, March 15 at Flamingo Cantina
On March 15 Under the Radar will host the second of three free SXSW Day parties sponsored by PRS Guitars. Leading up to the event we're letting you know about each artist playing. Today we're spotlighting Com Truise.
In a previous post we gave you the basic party details of the party: The party happens from 12:00-6:00 PM at the Flamingo Cantina at 6th and Red River (515 E. 6th Street, Austin, TX 78701). All events are free and open to the public—no RSVPs or badges are required. The second day also features performances from Slow Club, Choir of Young Believers, Zambri, Taken By Trees, Bear in Heaven, and Chairlift.
Com Truise may use sounds from the past in his high energy tunes, but he’s no nostalgia fetishist. The mixmaster blends eight-bit synths into a modern dance party—aimed to get butts on the floor. Come out and dance with us! Check out our interview with the man himself here, or our take on his debut album Galactic Melt here. Check out some songs and videos below.
