M. Ward opened for Brian Wilson on Sunday at the Hollywood Bowl and during his performance he brought out his old friends and collaborators Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes and Jim James of My Morning Jacket. All three of them were part of the Monsters of Folk supergroup who released one self-titled album in 2009 that also featured Mike Mogis. Mogis wasn’t there at Sunday’s show, but the other three did Monsters of Folk’s “Whole Lotta Losin’” and Ward’s songs “Vincent O’Brien” and “To Save Me.” Zooey Deschanel also joined Ward for a She & Him performance. Watch fan videos of it all in the playlist below (via Pitchfork).
Then Ward, who released a new album, More Rain, back in March via Merge, performed “Time Won’t Wait” on Conan last night. Watch video of that below.
Finally, Oberst has also announced some new tour dates and those are below too.
