Dean Wareham (of Luna, Galaxie 500, and Dean & Britta) has teamed up with one-man band Cheval Sombre (aka Chris Porpora) for the collaborative album Dean Wareham Vs. Cheval Sombre and have shared a trailer for the album. It’s due out October 26 via Wareham’s Double Feature label. Below is the trailer, followed by the album’s tracklist.

A press release says it’s “an album of western-themed songs” and also calls it a “western dream pop album.” The tracklist shows that it’s also a covers record. It was recorded in downtown Los Angeles at Palmetto Recordings with producer Jason Quever (Papercuts, Beach House). The backing band included Wareham’s wife and bandmate in Dean & Britta and Luna, Britta Phillips, along with Anthony LaMarca (The War on Drugs) and Will Halsey (Sugarcandy Mountain).

Dean Wareham Vs. Cheval Sombre Tracklist:

1. The Bend in the River (Robbins)
2. Tomorrow is a Long Time (Dylan)
3. Mountains of the Moon (Holland)
4. If I Could Only Fly (Foley)
5. Wayfaring Stranger (traditional)
6. Alberta (traditional)
7. Wand’rin’ Star (Lerner/Loewe)
8. Greensboro Woman (Van Zandt)
My Rifle, My Pony and Me (Tiomkin/Webster)
