Deerhoof Leaks New Song from Evil Album
“Global Album Leak” Premiers New Tracks In Different Countries
Nov 10, 2010 Deerhoof
Deerhoof has been around long enough (16 years!) to know that in the digital age, new records are hardly best-kept secrets until they hit the shelves. So, the eccentric punk rockers decided to save us the trouble of, you know, piracy, and leak tracks off upcoming album Deerhoof vs. Evil—due out January 25, 2011—themselves. But they’re doing it one week, and continent, at a time.
Deerhoof’s “Global Album Leak” is currently in full swing, with songs already live on the websites of Chicago-based Pitchfork and London’s The Guardian. Today, Deerhoof (virtually) traveled to Australia, where Beat Magazine unveiled “Behold a Marvel in the Darkness.” Where’s the band jet-setting next? Look out for Deerhoof on Capetown’s Don’t Party and Tokyo’s Qetic websites.
