Desaparecidos Announce New Album, “Payola,” First Record in 13 Years

Releasing their only album Read Music / Speak Spanish in 2002, Conor Oberst’s punk outfit Desaparecidos have announced their long-awaited follow-up Payola. Due out June 23 on Epitaph, the forthcoming LP includes the newly shared single, “City on the Hill,” which features Cursive’s Tim Kasher. Co-produced by Mike Mogis, the album also features contributions from Against Me!‘s Laura Jne Grace and So So Glos. Pictured is the record’s cover art.
Oberst and the Desaparecidos first reunited back in 2010, engaging in a number of tours and releasing a series of singles. Previously released tracks such as “Anonymous” and “The Left Is Right” are included on Payola.
Coinciding with the album’s release the Desaparecidos have also announced plans for a number of new shows. Find their dates below.
