BBC America Announces April 17 Premiere Date for New Season of Doctor Who

Matt Smith Takes the Reins as the Eleventh Doctor

BBC America has just announced the U.S. premiere date for the new season of Doctor Who, it will start on April 17. Stepping into the role of the Doctor recently vacated by David Tennant is Matt Smith. His companion Amy Pond is played by newcomer Karen Gillan.

The press release reveals, "The first three episodes of the 13-episode series have been confirmed as The Eleventh Hour, written by Steven Moffat, The Beast Below, also by Moffat and Victory of the Daleks by Mark Gatiss."
