Doctor Who to Film in U.S. For the First Time
Upcoming Season’s First Two Episodes To Be Filmed in Utah
Oct 11, 2010 Doctor Who
BBC America has announced that Doctor Who‘s upcoming season will kick off with a two-part episode set to be filmed in Utah. Although episodes of the long running sci-fi show have been set in America before, this will be the first time that the British show will actually be filming in the good old U.S. of A. The episodes will take place in the late 1960s, in which the time and space traveling adventurer The Doctor, along with his companions Amy and Rory, find themselves scavenging through the deserts of Utah and eventually in the Oval Office. Production for these episodes starts in Cardiff and moves across seas to Utah in November. Season six will air in America next spring and fall. This follows the news that the new season of Doctor Who spinoff Torchwood will also mainly be set in America.
