Today is a good day for Southern rock fans because Drive-By Truckers just announced the first leg of The Big To-Do tour, screenings of their documentary, The Secret to a Happy Ending, and revealed that circus-themed album cover you're gazing at right now. If you recall, DBT and ATO Records offered fans the first single, "This Fucking Job," from The Big To-Do last week. Get your ears ready for DBT's three-guitar assault.

The band's tenth studio release is expected to drop on March 16th and leading up to the release date the band will play some local weekend gigs before hitting the open road. They'll also make an SXSW appearance in the process. Touring support will include David Barbe and the Quick Hooks, Langhorne Slim, and Lucero. More dates will be announced soon.

The premiere screening of the DBT documentary, The Secret to a Happy Ending, is scheduled for February 5th at AFI Silver Theatre in Silver Spring, MD. According to a press release the film is "about the redemptive power of rock-and-roll; it's about the American South, where rock was born; it's about a band straddling the borders of rock, punk and country; it's about making art, making love and making a living; it's about the Drive-By Truckers." Color me interested.

Director Barr Weissman, Patterson Hood, Mike Cooley, and Brad Morgan will be fleding questions after the debut screening. (Note: That AFI Silver Theatre screening is already sold out, but they just announced a midnight showing on the same night.)   A new DBT release wouldn't be complete without a word about its artwork and the seventh Truckers release to feature longtime artist/friend Wes Freed is no different. The band has never told Freed what to draw, but he always manages to knock his covers out of the park. For The Big To-Do, he basically illustrated every track and if the enticing image above is any indication, he certainly picked up on Hood's circus allusions to The Rock Show.

Whew! Well's that's enough DBT news for today folks. Find all the necessary details below:
