Dum Dum Girls frontwoman Dee Dee Penny and New Zealand born vocalist Tamaryn have fused together their fuzz-pop charm to form the ultimate lo-fi shoegaze-y duo, Les Demoniaques. The duo reappropriated the moniker from a 1974 french horror film, and it translates to “The Demoniacs” in English, to clear up any confusion. To go along with their fuzzed-out roots, the duo’s first track is not an original but a cover of The Jesus and Mary Chain’s “Teenage Lust” off the cult-favorite LP Honey’s Dead. The single isn’t slated to drop until July 12 on True Panther, but Les Demoniaques have released a black-and-white video teaser that despite its grainy emulsion is NFSW, like the cover art above. Although the drone is toned back here, the Les Demoniaques version is just as eerie as the original.

“Teenage Lust” will be released digitally and as a postcard flexi disc limited to 1,000 copies with no reprint. Check out the track’s teaser video below, which, with its nudity and cigarettes, is as French as the duo’s name. Well done, ladies.
