Father John Misty Shares Jokey Rejected Pandora Radio Promos
“Most nights I wake up in a moving bus convinced that I’m dead.”

Forever the prankster, Father John Misty (real name Josh Tillman) has shared some jokey rejected promos for his Pandora Internet radio station. Whether or not they were ever actually submitted to Pandora is questionable, but they are quite funny. In them he makes jokes about James Bay “clutching a human foot,” says that his mixtape is “guaranteed to be 100% Ed Sheeran,” and that another Pandora mixtape is “the only way to put a veritable skin suit of myself on, you can be me for one terrifying hour.” Tillman also reveals that, “Most nights I wake up in a moving bus convinced that I’m dead.” Check them all out below.
Over the holiday Tillman also shared a 16-minute Soundcloud post that features him taking questions from audiences at his shows (really he could consider a second career in standup comedy) and that’s below too. And he’s recently reposted his cover of Ryan Adams covering Taylor Swift’s “Welcome to NY,” but done in the style of The Velvet Undergound. The cover got a lot of attention last September when Tillman first posted it, but he quickly took it down in hopes the attention would die down (but it only made the story more newsworthy). That cover is below too.
Father John Misty’s excellent sophomore album, I Love You, Honeybear, came out last February via Sub Pop and was Under the Radar’s #1 album of 2015. Also read our recent print article on Father John Misty and our recent bonus Q&A with Tillman (also read our 2012 interview with him).
