Feist Announces Vegetarian Cookbook for Charity
Pleasure: The Meals of An Album Due out December 11
Dec 06, 2017 Tom Waits
Feist released a new album, Pleasure, back in April via Interscope. Now she has announced a cookbook tied to the album. Pleasure: The Meals of An Album is jointly written by Leslie Feist and Adrienne Amato, who was the chef at the recording sessions for Pleasure. It features over 40 recipes for the meals Amato made during the 11 days in the studio. They are vegetarian recipes “organized on a song-by-song, day-by-day basis.” The 122-page book is available December 11 exclusively via Feist’s website, with all proceeds going to Community Food Centres Canada, “a nonprofit that builds and supports vibrant community spaces in low-income communities where people come together to grow, cook, share, and advocate for good food for all.”
Feist had this to say about the project in a press release: “The making of an album is a communal process on many levels and that extended to the community of the kitchen while we were recording. We hope this book will embolden you to expand your repertoire, stock up on simple staples and invite friends into your kitchen to cook some of these meals with them.”
The album’s highlight might be “Century,” which climaxes with a spoken word section by Pulp frontman (and solo artist) Jarvis Cocker. Below is the video again.

This cookbook has emboldened my repertoire. I would highly recommend this book for those who love vegetarian recipes.
