Fred Armisen To Serve As Bandleader for “Late Night with Seth Meyers”
Includes Les Savy Fav Members
Next week Jimmy Fallon will officially take over as the host of The Tonight Show, with his friend and former SNL alum Seth Meyers taking command of Late Night. Following Fallon's lead in his untraditional choice of having The Roots serve as his house band, Meyers yesterday announced that former SNL castmate and Portlandia star Fred Armisen would be serving as the bandleader of his program. The group, called 8G Band, will also feature Seth Jabour and Syd Butler of Les SAvy Fav, Eli Janney of Girls Against Boys, and Kim Thompson of Beyoncé's backing band.
According to a tweet by Meyers, "Fred will curate and lead the band, and continue to run it evne when he's off shoting Portlandia."
