Fucked Up Debut Single Off Upcoming LP

'David Comes To Life' Due Out June 7

In anticipation of the June 7 release of their third full-lenth, David Comes To Life, Toronto-based hardcore outfit Fucked Up unleashed today "The Other Shoe," the first of four singles via Matador's Matablog. According to the blog, David Comes To Life is an 18-song, 78-minute "rock opera" that is "far more melodic than their breakthrough The Chemistry of Common Life." It's evident from the track's elegant female vocals juxtaposed with the Damian Abraham's guttural rages that David Comes to Life sees the band stepping outside their hardcore confines, weaving together punk riffs and Britpop flare—somehow, it works seamlessly.
