Goldfrapp Announce Dancey Fifth LP
Head First Out March 23rd in North America
Goldfrapp's last album, the folk-y dream Seventh Tree came out less than two years ago, but it's been over four years since 2005's Supernature, the last suite of danceable tunes from the British duo.
Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory are preparing a dance-y fifth LP, Head First, due March 22nd in the U.K. and one day later in the U.S. through Mute.
According to a post on Pop Justice, debut single "Rocket" is due March 8th in the U.K. and March 9th in the U.S. and is "an Italo-esque disco record that isn't really an Italo-esque disco record and is just in fact a Goldfrapp record, albeit one which sounds a bit like Van Halen vs Laura Branigan." Very interesting.
Also, Goldfrapp penned the score for the film Nowhere Boy, a biopic revolving around the life of a pre-Beatles John Lennon. In other Goldfrapp news, the pop twosome supposedly collaborated with Christina Aguilera on her forthcoming album. While you wait for the new tunes, check out our 2008 interview with Ms. Goldfrapp here.
