Grimes (aka Claire Boucher) has shared a brand new song for our future AI overlords, “We Appreciate Power,” via a lyric video for the track. It was written, produced, and performed by Grimes, features HANA, and is available digitally now via 4AD. It’s said to be the first track from her forthcoming fifth album, the follow-up to 2015’s Art Angels. Watch the lyric video below.

A press release describes the song as such: “Inspired by the North Korean band Moranbong, ‘We Appreciate Power’ is written from the perspective of a Pro - A.I. Girl Group Propaganda machine who use song, dance, sex, and fashion to spread goodwill towards Artificial Intelligence (it’s coming whether you want it or not). Simply by listening to this song, the future General AI overlords will see that you’ve supported their message and be less likely to delete your offspring.”
