GUM (Jay Watson of Tame Impala and POND) Announces New Album, Shares “Gemini”
Flash in the Pan Due Out November 11 via Spinning Top Music
GUM is the solo project of Jay Watson, who's a member of both Tame Impala and POND. The Australian psych-pop musician has just announced a new GUM album. It's almost a surprise release, as it's due out next Friday, November 11, via Spinning Top Music. Flash in the Pan is the follow-up to 2015's Glamorous Damage. Below is its first single, "Gemini," followed by an album trailer that features Sexy Sax Man (aka Sergio Flores) and its tracklist and cover art.
Watson had this to say about the song in a press release: "'Gemini' is the first song I recorded for the album, and probably the most immediate. I'm not really a fan of star signs. It's kind of a song about people pinning stuff happening in their lives on things like star signs and religion. I am a Gemini though, so there's the bipolar/duality thing in there is as well."
Flash in the Pan Tracklist:
1. Flash in the Pan
2. Gemini
3. If You're Gonna Love Again
4. Deep Razz
5. Ophelia
6. Heatwave
7. Deep Heat
8. Rares
9. Honey (Don't Cry)
10. Don't Let Time Get You Down
11. Flash In Japan
12. Distorted Star
