Hot Chip Release More Details For One Life Stand
Listen to "Take It In"
The fourth album from the London electro-pop crew Hot Chip is now cleverly titled One Life Stand and will drop into our ears in physical and digital formats on February 9th through Astralwerks. (In the U.K., the release is slated for February 8th via Parlophone.)
You can listen to the first song from the LP, "Take It In." It's a dark dance groove with a nice FM-ready melody. Head on over to Pitchfork and stream it. I suggest pummeling bad guys with Hulk gloves while listening.
According to NME, One Life Stand features drumming from Charles Hayward of the Brixton experimental 1970s trio This Heat and Leo Taylor from the London indie outfit The Invisible. A press release notes "soul U.K.'s funky scene, soul music, modern R&B, Northern Soul, gospel, Golden Age Electronica, house, the sound of Arthur Russell, Prince, and Theo Parish" as influences on the Made in the Dark follow-up.
