What happens when three friends/producers (Matthias Hauck, Nepomuk Heller and Florian Kiermaier) join up with a slick-voiced singer/songwriter (the beguiling Josie-Claire Bürkle)? If you answered Munich, Germany-based four piece Claire well…you’re good at this game.

We’re pleased to have the international premiere of the band’s forthcoming EP Broken Promise Land (due out September 23 via Astralwerks). As implied by the title, this is a melancholic outing. However, it’s not without its dancey side. (So you know, feel free to slip on your best 1980s clubwear. Just make sure it’s in a darker shade of black.) From the beguiling duet “Games,” to the glowing sunsets of “Set Out With Me,” theirs is a candy-colored world ripe for the taking.
