Interpol Announce “Turn on the Bright Lights” 15th Anniversary Shows in New York and LA

Interpol previously announced some European tour dates in which they will perform their classic debut album, 2002’s Turn on the Bright Lights, in its entirety in honor of its 15th anniversary and now they have announced two such shows in New York and Los Angeles for this September. They go down September 23 at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, NY and September 30 at LA State Historic Park in Los Angeles, CA. Battles and Deerhunter will be the support acts on both shows. These will be the only U.S. Turn on the Bright Light performances. All their tour dates are below, followed by three videos from the album.

Fan club pre-sales tickets go on sale tomorrow, Tuesday, May 2, at 10am EST for the NYC show, and 10am PST for the LA show. Then the public tickets go on sale this Friday, May 5, at 12pm EST for NYC and 10am PST for LA.

A press release says the band is working on a new album, which is scheduled to be released by Matador in 2018. It’s been three years since Interpol’s last album, 2014’s El Pintor, which was their fifth. Frontman Paul Banks has kept busy with Banks & Steelz, his side-project with Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA that released their debut album, Anything But Words, last August. Bassist Carlos Dengler has long since left Interpol, but the rest of the Turn on the Bright Lights lineup (Banks, guitarist Daniel Kessler, drummer Sam Fogarino) remains intact.
