Interpol has released a new single entitled “Lights.” You can download it from the band’s website for the price of an email address and your date of birth or you can find it in our Media section here. “Lights” will be on the NY band’s not-yet-titled fourth LP. The new cut (sorta) harkens back to what drummer Sam Fogarino promised last November in an interview with Paste Magazine:

“The new record falls back towards the first…. In trying to move forward, there was an unspoken realization that you can’t let go of your sonic-defining tag…. That big wash of reverb? It’s back. It’s there…I personally brought two reverb tanks to the studio that our engineer fell in love with.”

Download the brooding slow-burner and hear for yourself. The band slowly build up the tempo into a freight train of heartache. Interpol will open for U2 this summer and fall. On the band’s Facebook page they say they are “stirring” and promise, “We will be posting important information and dates in the coming weeks.”

what an awesome website. Your info has helped me personally with my basic research. I am at school and I have a term paper to put in writing. I was intending to get over the web, fortunately your page has made it simpler for me control authors block and so i sense that I can move forward on my own. Thanks all for this good material.
