Isobel Campbell has announced a new album, This Is No Other, which is her first solo album in over 13 years, and has shared its first single, "Ant Life," via a video for the track. This Is No Other is due out January 31, which is 13 years and three months since the release of her last solo album, 2006's Milkwhite Sheets, and around nine-and-a-half years since the 2010 release of Hawk, her last of three collaborative albums with Mark Lanegan. Before all that she was a founding member of Belle and Sebastian from 1996-2002. Watch the "Ant Life" video below, followed by her UK tour dates.

Based on Campbell's social media posts, it seems as though the album has been finished for a while, as early as May 2016, and got delayed due to unspecified legal issues. Campbell wrote on Facebook today: "Was not sure this day would ever dawn...after many twists and turns, trials and tribulations am back on boogie street. Today I'm releasing the official video (directed by the very wonderful Mike Aho) for my first single titled 'Ant Life,' taken from my new album 'There Is No Other' out 31st January 2020."

On August 21, 2017 she posted to Facebook: "One year stuck in legal purgatory.... Close to giving up. Like too many of us these days, I need a miracle. Enough is most definitely enough."

So congrats to Campbell that the album is finally coming out!
