Takes Part in London's Soundcapes: Listening to Paintings

Jamie xx is set to release his first solo album In Colour on June 1. In the meantime, he has agreed to participate in the British National Gallery’s Soundscapes: Listening to Paintings series in London, where artists are invited to pick a piece from the museum’s collection and create music inspired by it. Jamie xx has chosen Théo van Rysselberghe’s “Coastal Scene” pictured above. The paintings and music will be showcased together July 8 - September 6, where museum patrons can view the painting while listening to the soundtrack in a soundproof booth.
