Janelle Monáe released a new album, Dirty Computer, back in April via Atlantic. Now she has done a session for Spotify where she covers Bob Marley & The Wailers’ 1975 song “High Tide or Low Tide” and also performed Dirty Computer‘s “I Like That.” Listen to the session below.

Previously Monáe shared a science fiction-themed teaser trailer for the album featuring both Monáe and Thompson, as well as videos for “Make Me Feel” and “Django Jane” (which both made our Songs of the Week list). Then Monáe shared a video for another new song, “PYNK.” “PYNK” featured Grimes, although she was not in the video, which instead featured Monáe, Thompson, and friends in a pink hover car and partying in the dessert. (“PYNK” was also one of our Songs of the Week.) Then she shared the audio for “I Like That,” plus a video for “I Like That.” Then she shared an accompanying Dirty Computer film.

It’s been five years since Monáe’s last album, 2013’s The Electric Lady. In that time she has launched her acting career, with notable roles in the movies Hidden Figures and Moonlight, as well as guest starring in the Amazon Prime sci-fi anthology series Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams.
