
Jay Farrar and Ben Gibbard Collaborate Over Kerouac
Son Volt and Death Cab For Cutie Members Pen Prose-Inspired LP
Son Volt's Jay Farrar and Death Cab For Cutie's Ben Gibbard have announced the release of an upcoming collaboration known as One Fast Move Or I'm Gone: Kerouac's Big Sur. Inspired by none other than beat writer Jack Kerouac, the album is set to be released alongside a feature-length documentary of the same title, which features Tom Waits, Patti Smith, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, and Sam Shepard, as well as Farrar and Gibbard.
Due out October 20th—the day before the 40th anniversary of Kerouac's passing—the album and movie will be available in several formats: CD, a CD/DVD package, a limited edition boxed set packaged with the novel, a 40-page book on the documentary, and the CD/DVD.
