Uniform Distortion Due Out June 29 via ATO
Find It At: AMAZON
My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James is releasing a new solo album, Uniform Distortion, on June 29 via ATO. Now he has announced some "career-spanning" solo tour dates at historic venues and performing arts centers across America. One dollar from every ticket will go to The Waterfall Project to benefit United for A Fair Economy and National Bail Fund Network. Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 22. All the dates are below, followed by the recent single "Throwback."
James had this to say about the tour in a press release: "I am looking forward to exploring all sorts of songs stripped down as they first occurred in their natural habitat -- just voice and guitar. Although I have played many shows by myself, this will be my first tour of this style and I am excited to see everyone out on the open road."
Previously James shared the album's first single, "Just a Fool" (which was one of our Songs of the Week and which he performed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert). Then he shared another song from the album, "Throwback" (which was also one of our Songs of the Week).
James also previously issued a lengthy statement about the album and its cover art, which you can read here.
James released an excellent solo album, the politically-charged Eternally Even, in the fall of 2016 via ATO (it was one of Under the Radar's Top 100 Albums of 2016). Last December James released Tribute To 2, an album of covers that was the sequel to his 2009 George Harrison covers EP Tribute To (which was also reissued last year).
My Morning Jacket released their last album, The Waterfall, in 2015. Read our 2015 interview with Jim James about the album.
