My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James released a new solo album, Uniform Distortion, back in June 2018 via ATO and in October he released another one, Uniform Clarity, that featured acoustic versions of the songs found on Uniform Distortion. Now he has announced some new tour dates for this summer. He has also announced a dual vinyl deluxe edition of the albums, Uniform Distortion/Clarity: Deluxe Edition, which is due out March 22 via ATO and includes bonus tracks. Check out the tour dates below.
Uniform Distortion/Clarity: Deluxe Edition is limited to 1,000 individually numbered copies. It includes “Rock and Roll Versions” of “It Will Work Out” and “Flash In the Pan,” two previously unreleased versions of songs that appeared in a more stripped down form on Universal Clarity. The deluxe edition also comes with a 7-inch single featuring four never-before-heard cover versions: “Hot Burrito #1” by The Flying Burrito Brothers, “How?” by John Lennon, “Fallin’ Rain” by Link Wray, and “Dark End of the Street” (which was written by Dan Penn and Chips Moman and recorded by all sorts of artists).
General sale tickets for the tour go on sale this Friday, February 1, at 10 a.m. local time. One dollar from every ticket sold for this tour will benefit Young Authors Greenhouse, “a nonprofit organization in Louisville, KY that inspires students ages 6-8 from diverse communities to grow their imaginations through writing.”

James released an excellent solo album, the politically charged Eternally Even, in the fall of 2016 via ATO (it was one of Under the Radar‘s Top 100 Albums of 2016). In December 2017 James released Tribute To 2, an album of covers that was the sequel to his 2009 George Harrison covers EP Tribute To (which was also reissued in 2017).
My Morning Jacket released their last album, The Waterfall, in 2015. Read our 2015 interview with Jim James about the album.
