If you support Under the Radar‘s Patreon page at the minimum contribution of at least $1.00 a month you get access to our Patreon-only feed featuring exclusive content only available to Patreon supporters. And the good folks at Arts & Crafts have also donated a vinyl copy of Broken Social Scene‘s new album, Hug of Thunder, to give away to one lucky Under the Radar Patreon supporter. The album came out today and is our Album of the Week. We’ll be picking one random Patreon supporter next Friday, July 14 to win the album. One runner up will get a CD copy.

Hug of Thunder is Broken Social Scene’s first new album in seven years, since 2010’s Forgiveness Rock Record. The band premiered a new song, “Halfway Home,” in March and the next day the band stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to perform the new single. Then they shared the album’s title track, “Hug of Thunder,” which features vocals from Feist, along with “Skyline” and “Stay Happy.” The album also features longtime Broken Social Scene collaborators/members Metric’s Emily Haines and James Shaw and and Stars’ Amy Milan and Evan Cranley. Below are four songs from the album.
