Kevin Spacey Says ‘No’ to Cassettes Won’t Listen
Band Forced to Rename Album
May 09, 2011 Cassettes Won’t Listen
Sure, Kevin Spacey seems like a charismatic, personable guy whenever he’s on late-night talk shows, delivering Oscar statues, or even providing commentary on CNN. But he is a serious actor, and it looks like he truly does take himself very seriously, especially when it comes to reappropriating his name for an album title.
Jason Drake, the man behind the electro-rock project Cassettes Won’t Listen, announced today that the title of his third full-length release has been altered. Drake initially titled his forthcoming album KEVINSPACEY, but after receiving a cease and desist from the award-winning actor, he has been forced to rename the record. It’s not a drastic change, however; Drake is simply dropping the “K” from the album title for a new-and-improved name of EVINSPACEY. Original and legal—just how Kevin Spacey likes it.
Cassettes Won’t Listen’s third record, EVINSPACEY, is currently slated for a June 21 release. In honor of the album’s re-constructed title, the outfit has released two free MP3s, available here and here.
